Here's the description of the book from Tyndale House Publishers:
"Christy Williams finally has her life on track. She’s putting her past behind her and working hard to build a career as an antiquarian book buyer. But things begin to unravel when a stolen Hemingway first edition is found in her possession, framing her for a crime she didn’t commit. With no one to turn to, she yearns for her estranged younger sister, May, whom she abandoned after their parents’ untimely deaths. Soon, Christy’s fleeing from her shattered dreams, her ex-boyfriend, and God. Could May’s Triple Cross Ranch be the safe haven she’s searching for? Will the sisters realize that each possesses what the other desperately needs before it’s too late? A stunning debut from the latest Christian Writers Guild winner."

My Review:
This whole book was intriguing and certainly no fairytale story! I really appreciated the authenticity of the story, from Christy's problems with smoking and alcohol, to details about buying and selling rare books (for which the author has experience to draw from!). I loved seeing the changes in Christy's and May's lives as the story developed, and I enjoyed the uniqueness of the plot.
While there really wasn't much "romance," which I really love in books, I still felt drawn in to the book and moved by the raw emotions found within the pages. The secondary characters were real, and I really liked getting to know Hunter, Beth, Jim, and Ruth especially.
There are some hard topics to read about in this book, but overall the message is uplifting and inspiring. If you're looking for a story about redemption and reconciliation that's well-written and a little bit different, than this book is for you!
*With thanks to Tyndale House Publishers for my copy of the book, which I won on Goodreads.*

It's a dream of mine to open a book store so I really found the whole antique/rare book part of this story to be fascinating! I loved the other bits of it too LOL! I'm glad you liked it. Did you know she has a sequel in the works? Can't wait!

Renee,
That's so great, Renee! :D With a sweet and outgoing personality like yours, along with your love of books, I think you would be a wonderful book store owner!
I found the interests of the two sisters to be intriguing--in that they paralleled my younger sister and me! I love books, reading, and writing, while my sisters LOVES horses and ranches. :)
I didn't know that she had a sequel coming out in the future! That's kind of a relief, because I confess that the ending left me wanting to know more. ;)

This one caught my eye, but I haven't read it yet. I'm on a waiting list for it at the library. I think it's the cover that really grabbed me. Glad I read this review, because I wasn't sure if it would be to heavy and depressing a read.
Kav,
The cover is beautiful, isn't it? :) And I'm glad my review was helpful to you--I hope you enjoy the book! Like I said, there are some hard topics and it's not really the sort of book where everything is sugar-coated, but overall it definitely offers hope.
