Back to Blogging!
I'm home!!! I hope you all are doing well. It looks like there's been a lot going on in the blogging world while I've been gone!
There's so much I want to tell you, I'm not even sure where to begin! Let's just say that our vacation was a wonderful blessing, and I had a fantastic time!!! I'm hoping to share some more pictures (and maybe even some videos!) with you within the next couple of days. The picture above is of my dad and me (and the very fun pilot!) right after our glider ride--my second one ever! (Thank you to Sunriver Soaring for this picture!)
On the writing scene, I have two very exciting updates! I found out during my vacation that I made it through first round judging of WOW! Women on Writing Spring '10 Flash Fiction Contest! It was a great encouragement to just be in the top 100, so whether I get in the top 10 or not, I've just been blessed to make it this far! If I don't place, maybe I can share the story here on my blog--it's just a short piece I originally wrote for my Novel Writing class. =)
Also, I had a grand surprise! We returned to one of my favorite museums ever--the High Desert Museum--this summer, and one of their new exhibits happened to deal to some extent with the setting of my manuscript! Not only did I get to do some unexpected research, but I was also inspired to write more, and I'm so thankful to the Lord for that extra encouragement!
And on the "theme" scene, it turns out that my dad and I should actually get to go to Washington D.C. next week after all! So I'll plan on bringing my laptop so I can share a "play-by-play" of our trip on this blog!
More to come, but I just had to share some of this! I had a GREAT time, but I missed you and I'm glad to be blogging again, too!

Hi Renee!!!
Thanks for the welcome! :) It's good to be back!

*Heehee*
Amber,
Congrats on your award. I just finished Sarah's Garden, that book is definitely making the rounds right now. I enjoyed your review of Cindy Woodsmall, these books sound different and interesting. Welcome back!
Julia,
Thank you! I'm happy to have made it through the first round, but I guess we'll have to see if I actually place or not. ;)
I agree--anytime BookSneeze offers fiction books, they go lot hot cakes! It seems as if many people are reading Sarah's Garden. How did you like it?
I'm glad you enjoyed the review--When the Soul Mends is a great book! :) Thanks for the welcome home!

Amber,
Even if not, how neat to have placed, that in itself is such an honor.
As for Sarah's Garden, I thought it was just OK (3.5/5 for me). I was a bit disappointed with the ending (maybe more because of personal beliefs), don't want to give anything away. What I did enjoy though was the information on heirloom gardening and think I might be interested in doing it myself.
Thanks, Julia! :)
I'm glad you enjoyed the gardening aspect of the book--and I'll admit that I'm curious now. I'm sure I'll get to it soon!
