Twitter and a Creative Endeavor

Well, I did it. After reading Bluerose's recent Twitter/Facebook post, I decided I'd try my hand at tweeting! I've actually been tweeting for The Borrowed Book on the days when I post on that blog, but now I've created two of my own accounts.

Two, you ask?

Yes, two.

I created an account for me as a writer/blogger/etc. So for my friends here at Seasons of Humility, if you have a Twitter account, I'd love to connect with you! You can find me HERE.

What's the second account for? That's the "creative endeavor" mentioned in this post's title. One of my new favorite authors, Anne Elisabeth Stengl, has recently started a blog for her cat Minerva Louise called Chronicles of the Evil One. If you are a cat-lover, you will love this blog! Too funny!

I loved the idea of having a plain-old fun blog that would also serve as creative writing practice. I even created a new blog just to mess around with the idea (and then promptly deleted it...). But when I started messing around with Twitter, I thought, Why not create a plain-old fun Twitter account with that same purpose in mind? Then I won't have to come up with full blog posts...

So that's what I did!

Some of you may recognize the cat below from a previous post:

This is my windowsill kitty. Ain't he sweet? And he's very low-maintenance, being stuffed and all...

You have no idea how many girls have come by my room the 2+ years I've been here at Corban University, asking me about my cat and telling me how they thought he was real. Well, he's quite the popular attraction here in the Balyo dorm! So I've given him his own Twitter account, where he can share his observations on college life from his strategic position overlooking the back parking lot and various walkways. You can find The Dorm Cat HERE. Hopefully he'll bring a smile to your face! =)

See you on Twitter! (And I hope you don't mind all these links, LOL!)

Welcome to Twitterland! Tried to find you and your cat, but nothing happened, not even a meow. In any case, I'm @HuttWriteVoice. See you there!

Aww, thanks so much! I'm excited to try my hand at this - and I'm glad I had a chance to dip my toes in to the Twitter sea through the BB before diving in, you know? ;) Hopefully it won't be too scary now that I've had a glimpse of it all!

Now, to avoid getting too OCD about it... ;)

I'm excited about chatting more with you, too!

Thank you! I'm sorry you couldn't find me on Twitter...were those "HERE" links in this post not working for you? Either way, both me and my kitty are following you now. ;)

It is very different, isn't it? But so glad we're in this together now! :)

And so happy you like The Dorm Cat idea!! :D I'm excited to just have fun with it and maybe gain a new perspective on living in a dorm. ;) Hope you enjoy following him!

Thank you! You've always been such an encouragement and blessing to me! :)

And yeah...he's not too furry. But he's still cute, although he might prefer the term "handsome," LOL! ;)

You're so brave to be on twitter :) I tried FB, but I keep forgetting to log on. Sounds really fun though :)

Oh, I wouldn't really consider it brave! Perhaps a bit naive of me, to think that I can balance this all... *sigh* I'm steering clear of FB if at all possible, though! I know some can make it a good thing, but when I tried it for a few months (my first year of school), it was definitely NOT a good thing for me! :(

If you ever do get a Twitter account, though, let me know, and we can connect! :) I really, really hope I don't become too obsessed with this, LOL!

A Twitter account for your cat? How fun! Enjoy! :)

I think it will be fun! ;) Of course, my windowsill kitty isn't real, but he's been a good (if silent) companion all my time here at college. ;) Makes me miss my Mr. Murphy (my real cat!) back at home (and even my sister's cat, Muffin Man, crazy as he is!).

Well, congrats on being all a'twitter' over tweeting, Amber! I haven't gone down that road yet and likely won't. I like to have 'meaty' conversations and sparse little tweets would just frustrate me no end and take up waaaayyyyy too much time! So I'll keep stopping by here to catch up with you -- especially now that my laptop and internet are fixed...finally!

LOL! Thank you! My parents saw this post and my mom had to make the comment that I was "twitter-pated," like on Bambi. ;)

I'm glad to hear your laptop and Internet are fixed! And thank you for being willing to keep on checking in here - it's friends like you that make blogging so wonderful! :)

By the way, I saw your post yesterday about the young man who came up to you and prayed for you. What a powerful, beautiful reminder of God's love and provision! Thank you for sharing that story. :)
