My Review of Love Finds You in Hershey, Pennsylvania

Here's the description of the book from the Summerside Press website:

"Sadie Spencer has learned that in life, as well as in food, sour balances sweet. Returning to her hometown of Hershey with a five-year-old daughter, she manages to rise from the ashes following the death of her husband, the passing of her mother, and the dissolution of her career as a TV chef. With the help and encouragement of her best friend, Jasper, she opens a restaurant and looks forward to savoring the sweet side of life. That is, until a handsome Russian entrepreneur arrives in town, apparently intent on opening up his own restaurant in direct competition to hers. Sadie becomes obsessed with honing the one skill she’s never had—creating desserts—to keep up with her adversary, and in the process, she finds a love that’s simply icing on the cake."

My Rating: Spring

My Review:
Oh, readers, what a sweet, fun book! I so enjoyed my time reading this story, and I loved being immersed into Hershey, Pennsylvania. And if you think I'm biased because I'm a chocolate-lover, well you could be right! However, I believe this story would be scrumptious even if I wasn't such a fan of chocolate!
I loved the characters so much, from adorable Kylie to charming Dmitri to Belva (everybody's dream mother-in-law!). One aspect I really appreciated about this book was that the author didn't hesitate to show all of the main character's imperfections. While at times it would hurt to see the pain she caused those she loved most, it made me relate more to her. And it reminded me that love never gives up. God doesn't give up on us, and we shouldn't give up on each other, because we all sin and mess up. Only God alone is perfect.
With that being said, can I say right now that I just love Jasper? He loves Sadie for who she is, and he is such a romantic man! And his interactions with Sadie's daughter, combined with his adorable good looks... *Sigh* You'll just have to read the book to see what I mean!
Overall, this book was very entertaining and offered some good points about true love and forgiveness. I highly recommend it!

*Thanks to Renee at http://steelergirl83.blogspot.com/ and author Cerella Sechrist for my copy of the book, which I won during Renee's Blogoversary!*
