Easter Giveaway!

Happy Resurrection Sunday!

Several years ago I was privileged to go on a trip to Israel with a wonderful group of people. While we were there I was able to see the Garden Tomb--the possible sight of the tomb where Jesus was buried. As our guide told us, it is uncertain where Jesus' tomb is (or was), but whether or not it is the exact place, the Garden Tomb shares the right message. On the door that has been placed there, there is a sign which includes these words from Matthew 28:6--

"He is not here: for he is risen."
How wonderful, how marvelous, are those words! Jesus is risen! And in Him we have hope!

As for the title of this post, I thought it appropriate on such a grand occasion (as well as to celebrate the beginning of my blog) to have a giveaway for my readers! I have a new copy of A Voice in the Wind by Francine Rivers to give away to one lucky reader!

From the Tyndale House Publishers website:
"This classic series has inspired nearly 2 million readers. Both loyal fans and new readers will want the latest edition of this beloved series. This edition includes a foreword from the publisher, a preface from Francine Rivers and discussion questions suitable for personal and group use. #1 A Voice in the Wind: This first book in the classic best-selling Mark of the Lion series brings readers back to the first century and introduces them to a character they will never forget--Hadassah. Torn by her love for a handsome aristocrat, a young slave girl clings to her faith in the living God for deliverance from the forces of decadent Rome."
In order to enter the giveaway you must have a U.S. address, and answer one or both of the following questions:
1. What is your favorite Francine Rivers novel? If you have not read any of her books yet, which book of hers might you be interested in?
2. What is one of your favorite Easter memories? (This one's just for fun!)
Entries into the drawing will be accepted through Sunday, April 11. The winner will be announced on Monday, April 12. Good luck to everyone, and have a wonderful day!
(Note: The top picture of the painting is from the Thomas Kinkade website--his painting of the Garden Tomb. Isn't it beautiful?)

Ariel,

Thanks for your entry and best of luck to you!

Hunting for eggs at my grandparents' house is a fond memory for me, too! I especially liked it, though, when it wasn't raining and we could hunt for eggs in their beautiful yard. :)

I haven't read anything by her but now I want to. ;)

I remember when me and my brother were kids my dad telling us how the dogs woke him up in the middle of the night because they were barking at the Easter Bunny. My dad said he had to get the dogs back so the Easter Bunny could leave our baskets. lol

Hey Amber,
I've never read any thing by Francinc Rivers but, I've got a copy of Redeeming Love on my bookshelf so, it's only a matter of time...LOL

I think my favorite Easter memories would have to be..... when my nephews come over to hunt for the Easter eggs, that I'd hide. Granted, the candy inside of the eggs had melted but, it's just so much fun watching them.

Please don't enter me, Amber, I've got too many books as it is.

Love Ya,
Ashley

Ashley,

Thanks for the comment! I really hope you get a chance to read Redeeming Love--it is a powerful book and one you won't soon forget!

And that's a sweet memory! I'm sure your nephews must be a lot of fun. :)

Also, I know what you mean about having a lot of books--would that I had your self-control! Yet, I still enter giveaways and such...sigh. My name is Amber and I am a bookaholic. ;)

I love your comment, Amber! You bookaholic, you. :D

I have read Redeeming Love and her 5 books about women from the Bible, all of which I enjoyed very much. But I believe that The Last Sin Eater is my favorite by her. That may be influenced by the movie a little bit, but it is also a very good book!

One of my favorite Easter memories is opening our Resurrection Eggs. Those are where you have 12 plastic eggs, each containing a symbol of part of the Easter story. We would open them up one at a time and tell the story of Christ's resurrection!

(I really hope I get this book!!!)

Lindsay,

Thanks! I thought you would appreciate the "bookaholic" comment, since you are quite aware of the quantity of books that I own!

I agree about The Last Sin Eater! Since I have only read that one and Redeeming Love, I have a hard time choosing my favorite, but I was so moved by The Last Sin Eater that it might just be my favorite so far!

And as for your Easter memory, that is really neat! I seem to recall doing something like that in Sunday school years ago!

Good luck in the drawing! :)
