First, I will announce the winner from the 150th Post Celebration! The winner of Love, Charleston is . . .
Ariel!
I'll be sending you an e-mail soon! Thank you for all those who stopped by to join the discussion and the party! I hope you had fun!
Now, I must say that I cannot write anything more. I know I ought to do my "Sunday by the Sea" post, which I think I still might because I've been inspired by what I've read of MaryLu Tyndall's book Surrender the Heart, and I think I have a verse that I would like to share, too.
However, I just finished watching North & South, and I am in a state of bliss. The movie enthralled me, moved me, and drew me in so deeply that I simply want to savor the last memory of it and the last strains of haunting, beautiful music echoing through my mind. Perhaps I will be able to write more later . . .

Sigh...All I'm hearing everywhere is "North & South" and I still haven't seen it yet! Just checked my library hold status and I'm 36 in the queue. I was 41 a couple of weeks ago so I suppose that's progress but it looks like I won't be seeing it until sometime in Octobler. Oh well...I have lots of time to anticipate!
Wow...really affected you ; ) I've never heard of this before! Guess I'll just have to go look into it...
Thanks for your comment in Seekerville, Amber. I know that you know what you're talking about because you're literally in the same (college) shoes as me, though not a freshman anymore, it's close enough. I've met a couple people, which seems to help. I have today and tomorrow that I mostly have to fill because they've given us free time. Then classes start on Tuesday. We're in that in-between point where the free time isn't all that great because we don't know what to do with the time! Lol! We don't even have homework yet, so it's kind of boring....
Ok, well that's the update this morning : D
Talk to you later!
Hannah
Kav,
Oh, I hope you can see it soon! After reading/seeing all the excitement about it on Laura Frantz' blog, I simply had to get it...and I was blown away by how good it was!
It's always great to be able to anticipate things, and I admire your attitude. :) I could do with a bit more patience in my life! I think you will be thrilled when you finally get to see it!

Hannah,
Oh, yes, it certainly did! I don't think I heard of it before I saw all the talk about it on Laura Frantz' blog, but I think if you like these types of movies (historical romance, etc.), you'll fall in love with this one!
And you're more than welcome, Hannah. :) I'm sorry that you're having such a rough time right now, but I'm sure that once classes start and you find your routine, it will get better. It definitely helps to have friends, and I'm sure you'll never want for them! And you can always remember that, as the song on Toy Story goes, "You've got a friend in me." Feel free to visit my blog or e-mail me if you ever just need someone to talk to. :)
Hope your week turns out to be wonderful for you!
~Amber
I've got this on my "To be watched" list now! Between you and Renee, I've been convinced to watch it. :)
Next time I got to the library, I'll see if they have it. They seem to better about having movies, as opposed to books. :)
Knew you'd love N&S ;-)
XOXO~ Renee
Bluerose,
This is definitely a great movie to have on your "To be watched" list! ;) I loved it!!!
And talk about irony...your library is better about having movies as opposed to books? What is this world coming to? ;)
~Amber
Renee,
You were right! ;) LOVED it!!!

North & South *sigh* I'm so happy you finally got to experience it!!! Some of the finest period acting you'll ever see, for sure! LOL, Pride & Prejudice was my favorite movie, until N&S came along!!
And, I know what you mean about the music, too- LOVED it at the beginning with the train and that breathtaking landscape! I wish I could find a beautiful vintage looking music box that plays that exact melody :)
Now you know what all the fuss was about over on Laura's blog ;) Her posts, even from last week, are still abuzz with the excitement! Eloquent author that she is, her thoughts on the movie were so wonderful, and described so perfectly :D And, how exciting that she using John Thornton as a template for hero in her upcoming series!!
Start to finish, it was truly a PERFECT period drama :) "Bliss" is definitely the afterglow of such a masterpiece of a movie!!!
Blessings,
Amanda Stanley
Amanda,
I'm so happy I got to experience it, too!!! I ended up watching it all in one sitting this last weekend while my roomie was gone. It was just too good to force myself to wait!
I loved your idea about the music box! :) I LOVED the music, as well, and I just LOVED the whole atmosphere of the movie!
And you're right--now I definitely know what all the fuss was about! It will be so great to read about her next hero if he's somewhat modeled after John Thornton! *sigh* :) I'm happy that I still have Courting Morrow Little to look forward to reading, as well! It's here in my dorm room, and it's so nice to savor the anticipation.
Wasn't "bliss" the perfect word to describe how one feels after watching North & South? :D It just seemed to fit with all of my overwhelmingly wonderful feelings!
Thank you for stopping by!
~Amber
