TBR Spine Poetry

After seeing wonderful pics from blogging friends Kara (Flowers of Quiet Happiness) and Ruth (Booktalk & More), I simply couldn't resist taking on the challenge of coming up with some "spine poetry"!

These two "poems" are all from books in my TBR or "currently reading" stacks (both YA and Christian fiction)...

Welcome to Last Chance
On Distant Shores:
Delirium,
Pandemonium,
Shadow and Bone...
Shades of Mercy
All in Good Time
For Darkness Shows the Stars.

The Elite:
Born of Persuasion.
A Noble Groom,
The False Princess -
Matched.
Wishing on Willows...
Burning Sky,
Dragonwitch,
Into the Whirlwind...
Love at Any Cost.

So much fun to try "writing" poetry in a new way! Have you all tried this? Or have you come up with some other ways of "writing" poetry or stories?

  5. That is so neat! I have often made up stories by stringing together "spines" but I've never tried poetry. What a task it'd be to make it rhyme! :) Very clever! :)

  6. Jessica,

Isn't it, though?? I had a blast trying to fit titles together - so many lovely titles and book spines! :)

Looking forward to moving your book from my TBR to my "currently reading" stack!

  9. Rachel,

Oooh, I bet there are some great story ideas that could arise from combined titles/spines! :) And rhyming spine poetry? Yep, that would be quite the task! ;)

    Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks so much! A pro photographer, I'm not, but I'm glad you enjoyed them just the same. ;)

  13. This is so groovy! I especially like the second poem, with the noble groom and false princess -- there's a story there, waiting to be told. Dig it!

  14. Hamlette,

Thank you! Yeah, the "noble groom" and "false princess," just begged to go together - it was kind of fun to have a story sort of poem. :) That could be interesting to explore sometime!

  15. This poetry piece is so awesome! I'll defintely try this sometime. I personally think this is the greatest poetry invention of all time ... probably said that because it involves books (what would I do without them *sighing*) ;).
