Fall Friday

To steal an idea from You've Got Mail, I'd love to send ya'll a bouquet of sharpened pencils to celebrate the beginning of autumn! As it is, I hope this post will still help you get into a celebratory mood, even without the pencils. ;)

Why are we celebrating? Well, besides it being a new season (not quite officially yet, but soon!), it's also time to "hit the books." For me and all you other students out there, that can refer to textbooks and the like. But for all of us who are Christian fiction fans, there are some great books releasing this fall!!!

I "dolled up" a bit (ie: put on my fancy hat and my nice green shirt!) to do a photo shoot with Emma (on the cover of Julie Lessman's A Heart Revealed). Don't we look spiffy? ;)

I'm definitely not fancy in this picture (and I missed the top part of my head...), but I just had to share my excited face with you - my copy of Torrent arrived on Wednesday from Amazon.com!!! (Can you tell that I'm super excited to read the conclusion to this fantastic series???)

So are you ready to "hit the books"? This fall I hope to do some book discussions (including discussions of the two books pictured above!) and share plenty of reviews with you! I say, "Bring it on!!!"

What books have been pouring into your mailbox lately? Or what books are you most looking forward to reading later this fall?

  2. Ohh, both those books look great! I've read Torrent (and assure you, it IS awesome! ;-) and am looking forward to reading A Heart Revealed.

Hmm, other books that are publishing this fall and that ended up in my mailbox are...

The Doctor's Lady by Jody Hedlund
Deadly Pursuit - Irene Hannon (which was VERY good, btw!)
    The Chair - James Rubart
    The Queen - Steven James

And those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head. :-D

  21. Hey Amber! LOVE the pictures! : )

On my fall line up are A Heart Revealed (of course!!), Grace for the Good Girl by Emily P. Freeman (non-fiction), Walk Strong, Look Up (non-fiction), The Measure of Katie Calloway by Serena Miller -- all for Revell Blog Tours. Really looking forward to all of them!! Like all of you, I have so many books that I want to read. After those, I think I might read An Unlikely Suitor by Nancy Moser (got that one for review, but never got around to it).

    Have a great weekend, Amber!
    Hugs,
    Michelle

  22. Michelle,

    Thank you!! :)

Aren't the Revell Blog Tour offers the best?? I'll be reviewing AHR (I guess that's obvious, LOL!) and The Measure of Katie Calloway, as well! So excited about both of them! :)

And yes - so many books, so little time! But I like knowing that I have so many options and plenty to keep me busy for months (or years...) to come! ;)

Hope you have a great weekend, as well!

  23. BRING IT ON AMEN!!! I've got so many books to catch up on, but HEY, I'm not complaining. :)

    Lookin' good, girl!

  24. Oh, I'm so jealous, Amber! You have two of the books I'm looking forward to reading the most this Fall. Ack. I don't even have copies yet. They weren't in my bookstore when last I checked. I guess I better try them again. I'm looking forward to two Seekerville releases too...Debby Guisti has a new LI Suspense and Tina Radcliffe has the second in her Okalahoma series with LI coming out in October, but they are both available now on eharlequin.

And love the pictures. This is a great trend pairing readers with their favourite books, isn't it?

  25. Casey,

    Hahaha, glad you agree! ;D

    Thanks!

  26. Kav,

I'm sorry you have to wait. :( I hope you get to read Torrent and A Heart Revealed soon!! I'm sure those two LI ones will be great, too - I really enjoyed Tina's first book!

Glad you like the pictures! It is a lot of fun seeing more and more people taking pictures with new releases! :)
