In some ways, I would have loved to get inside the hero's head, but it did indeed ramp up the mystery to be a bit in the dark about his motives. (Although there were some things we learn while in Amaryllis's head that you would *think* she would pick up on sooner! Oh, well...)

Thanks for checking out my review, and yay for Book 2!

~AmberAmber Holcombhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15100265646497152198noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4163733401418146284.post-22090556425996213952014-09-11T00:24:46.522-06:002014-09-11T00:24:46.522-06:00Grace,

But yes, I completely agree with you about it still being an enjoyable story with great writing. :) Looking forward to swapping thoughts on Book 2!

~AmberAmber Holcombhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15100265646497152198noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4163733401418146284.post-7561424110823499412014-09-10T10:22:23.202-06:002014-09-10T10:22:23.202-06:00I totally agree with you about needing more founda...I totally agree with you about needing more foundation in the beginning. I was feeling lost for a while but figured the author would let me in on things eventually. I loved the romantic tension with the first person POV, because as readers we have to try to interpret the hero's feelings through observation instead of being told how he feels. I think it can be more powerful. Great review! Looking forward to the next book!Heidi Reads...https://www.blogger.com/profile/02572805983285715116noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4163733401418146284.post-30180431413769479312014-09-10T09:32:31.532-06:002014-09-10T09:32:31.532-06:00I agree that it needed more grounding- seemed a bi...I agree that it needed more grounding- seemed a bit rushed without it. But the writing was good, and the story was enjoyable. I, too, liked the character of Meredyth, so I'm looking forward to her book! :-DGracehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10509128604995424173noreply@blogger.com
