Contentment Reading Challenge: October

Can you believe we're already halfway through October? Fall sure is a busy season, and the days just keep flying by! I have nothing new to report for this challenge, unfortunately - I've been reading plenty of books, but they've either been new ones for review or textbooks and such for school. Hopefully I'll be able to squeeze in another re-read or two before the year ends!

For this month's update, I have a few questions for you:
  • How are you doing on this challenge? Have you been able to re-read any books since the last update?
  • Do you have any ideas for a possible end-of-year celebration for this challenge, whether we completed the level we aimed for or not? What would you like to see here on the blog to commemorate our re-reading - giveaways? author interviews? games? prizes? (Not sure yet what I'll be able to put together, but I'd love to hear your thoughts!)
  • Is this something you would like to participate in for 2012? If for some reason I'm not able to commit to hosting the challenge, is there someone who would be interested in taking over for next year?
Thank you for any input!

P.S. Is there anybody out there with a talent for making buttons that might be willing to help me? I'm gearing up for the "Love Finds You" blog party I'll be hosting in December, and I'd love to have a button for the occasion! (Renee Ann did such a fabulous job with the button last year!) No worries if you're too busy - believe me, I know how that goes! ;) Just thought I'd ask!

Hi Amber,
I read 6 books in September, taking me to 36 in total for the challenge!

I have no ideas for your other questions, although I would be interested in participating in the challenge if it is done again next year. I'd just need a bigger target :)

I haven't re-read any since your last update. I need to do better, but I've got too much on my plate right now. Sigh. But I do read a chapter or two of The Frontiersman's Daughter on my Kindle when I get a second. I've only got 3 more to read, I would really like to make the challenge!

Beth,

Good to know! :) I'm glad you're enjoying the challenge and doing so very well!

Note to self: higher goal levels. ;)

Casey,

I know what you mean - no worries! I loved The Frontiersman's Daughter - great choice! :) I'm sure you'll have no problem in making your goal by the end of December. :)

Well for all my good intentions, I didn't reread anything this last month! :-/ Oh dear! It just seems that I always have a book review deadline just a day away!

But I'm about to start rereading a book series, so maybe getting started on one will help me finish the whole series and help me get closer to my goal! ;-)

I would certainly participate in this challenge again next year! I'm no good with making buttons, so can't help you there...but I just might be interested in hosting on my blog. (If you weren't able to host it, that is!)

I always look forward to these check ups on the challenge. Do you think you'll have another bookswap event before the years out? My stack of books to trade is piled up pretty high right now!

Katie,

I know how that goes - although any good intentions kind of disappeared once school started, LOL! Glad you're planning on re-reading another series, though, and I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks so much for being willing to host the challenge if I don't next year! I'll let you know as we get closer to 2012 what the plan is if you're still interested at that time. :)

I'm so happy you look forward to these update/check-up posts - I want this to be a fun event year-round! :) I'll definitely have to keep the book swap in mind as that seems to be a popular attraction! ;) Maybe next month (November)...?
