A Night to Remember

Tonight we went into Reno to watch the show "Shake, Rattle & Roll" at the Eldorado. What a blast! From the moment we headed into the showroom only to see a large group of Red Hat Society ladies all sitting near the front, we could tell it was going to be a fun evening. =)

The outfits were so colorful, the lighting was beautiful, and the music--spectacular! It was so thrilling to hear all of those wonderful "Oldies" and seeing all of the great dance numbers. After being in our school's musical (State Fair) last fall semester, I think I have an even greater appreciation for the coordination and time it takes to put a show together. I cannot even imagine how much work went into getting this show ready, and how much work it takes each night for them to keep up such an amazing level of energy! My parents and I continually remarked on that. This show is packed with energy!

The lady I sat next to was a lot of fun, and we all had a great time clapping, singing, and occasionally dancing along with the music. I love those songs, from the music of Chuck Barry to Elvis Presley, and so much more! This definitely was a memorable night for my family, and I'm so glad we had a chance to go to this together. The place was really "shaking" with excitement tonight!

Hey, Amber. This keeps popping into my mind. I think its great that you want to share your poem and I can't wait to see it. However, I was thinking about what I wrote and we need to make sure its God guiding us (which I think you do). I actually did some extensive research into copyright laws as part of a former job. I think its good that these laws are in place to protect us. For instance, I did share a poem on my blog that I felt God was leading me to share...however, I don't really share much about my WIP at all especially since as a homeschooling mom it may take me quite a while to even finish it. And my topic is one that I haven't seen too many books about, so it seems wisest to avoid discussing it at this point.

Julia,

Oh, I hope I haven't made you worry at all! I agree that it's definitely good to be careful--hence, the reason I, too, haven't shared what my WIP is about, and why I don't plan on sharing anything about it on my blog until I know it's going to get published. ;)

As far as my poem, if it's God's will for me to share it, then I have no problem. :) Thank you so much for caring about me! I'll try to be wise when it comes to what I put on this blog. I appreciate your advice!

Oh, and I should say that I had been planning on sharing the poem when I gave my review of "A Friend in the Storm" for Litfuse, because they're having a promotion for that where bloggers can share their own poetry or inspiring thoughts. But I think I'll share something different for that--you're encouragement simply made me want to share it as something separate then that promotion (and sooner!). :)

Thank you again!

Thanks, Amber. You know I knew you would seek the Lord for what to do, but as I later read the way I worded it...I just didn't want to make it sound like I think everyone should just throw caution to the wind and post everything on their blog. I still can't wait to read your poem...and I still think as I said we should share our work as God shows us. I just didn't know if I had worded it the way I meant it :).

Thanks for posting my giveaway. I appreciate it :).
